Daizy Gedeon is a multi-award-winning filmmaker, journalist, entrepreneur, humanitarian, and activist. For two decades she reported and held senior editorial roles with some of the world’s most prominent media organisations including News, Times Group, Channel 4, and MBC, covering a broad range of topics from the Olympic Games, the Lebanese Civil War and the 1994 Middle East Peace Treaty. In 2000 she moved into the marketing arena and became CEO of GDR MEDIA Group in Sydney and over the following two decades, grew a small home-based business into a multi-million-dollar marketing agency which today is one of the Australia’s most trusted brands. She is also the founder of film production company, Dream Creations International and her most recent film, ENOUGH! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour which addressed the Beirut Port explosion and ongoing political and socio-economic crisis confronting the country. The film has been selected to screen at more than 45 film festivals and has won 25 international accolades including a human rights award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Her diverse experience and successful career have enabled her to follow her purpose and last year she relocated to Lebanon where she has established a new business and focuses her time, energy, and resources on producing the most independent, informative and impartial video reports on the situation in Lebanon in the hope of inspiring change through factual storytelling. She is pioneering a new disruptive media solution for Lebanon by combining leading edge technology that will provide jobs, opportunities, exposure, and insights. Her motto is: “I don’t need a salary. I’m not looking for a job. I don’t want to be a hero. Nor do I want to be a martyr.
