Director, South Sudan

Amb. Agnes Oswaha is the Head of Mission, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Sudan to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland (Court of St. James’s).

Previously, she served as the Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA&IC) of the Republic of South Sudan.

And prior to that she was the Director of Human Rights, Gender, Child and Social Welfare at the MFA&IC.  She also served as the Director of East African Community (EAC) Department at the MFA&IC, working closely with the South Sudan EAC Secretariat.

Amb. Oswaha served as the Executive Director in the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from June 2012- July 2016.

Between 2011 and 2012, Amb. Oswaha was the Acting Permanent Representative of the Republic of South Sudan to the United Nations in New York.

She had previously worked as the Director of Culture, Community and Consular Affairs for the Government of Southern Sudan Mission to the United States and the United Nations, which became the South Sudan Embassy in Washington, D.C. on July 9th, 2011 and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of South Sudan to the United Nations in New York on July 14th, 2011.
