H.E. Romero-Martinez is Ambassador of Honduras to the United Kingdom, concurrent to Ireland and Dean of the Latin American Diplomatic Corps. He is a career diplomat of the Honduran Foreign Service. He has served as an Ambassador of Honduras to various countries including Spain, Egypt, Morocco, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti, Colombia, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Ireland. He has also represented his country as Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, USA and at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. He is currently the Permanent Representative of Honduras to the London-based international organizations which include the International Maritime Organization, International Coffee Organization and International Sugar Organization. 

At home, Mr. Romero-Martinez served as Special Adviser for International Affairs to the President of Honduras with the rank of Secretary of State. 

Mr. Romero-Martinez received a degree in international law from the National University of Honduras. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in international relations from the Catholic University of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Other areas of study include international law and integration politics at John Hopkins University in the United States; international commerce at the Centre of Compared Studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and studies on European integration at the University of Brussels in Belgium.
