I am the co-founder and managing director of Justice In Fashion, a UK-registered Community Interest Company. We address inequalities of wealth, power in the fashion industry supply chain. Currently, our focus is supporting marginalised communities in the UK garment manufacturing industry. We also created the Apparel and Textile Manufacturing Federation (ATMF), a UK coalition of ethical garment manufacturers working to exercise their collective power to push back against unfair trading practices by fashion brands and retailers. I am a US-qualified lawyer with extensive experience in state and local government in Denver, Colorado. I have also served as Attorney Regulation Council for the Colorado Supreme Court. I left my government career and moved to the UK in 2016 to complete my MBA and work in the international field of business and human rights. During the COVID-19 outbreak and lockdowns in 2021, I spent 4 months working with asylum seekers in Lesvos, Greece, Europe's largest refugee camp. It was difficult work but it helped me appreciate the vulnerabilities of migrants and refugees to exploitation due to restrictive migration regimes.
