Being an undergraduate Biotechnology student, Lakshmi is passionate about the healthcare industry and the nuances it entails. During her free time, in addition to reading and photographing aesthetic skies, she enjoys discussing start-up ideas with her friends and doing her part in bridging the gender gap prevalent in her community. She was one of the founding members and the President of Girl Up Bengaluru, a United Nations Foundation organisation striving to accelerate social change. After this transformative experience, she has dedicated her endeavours to the intersection of two domains she is equally passionate about- healthcare and anti-gender-based violence. She now works at a health-tech based start-up and has been studying the effects of domestic abuse, female genital mutilation and postpartum depression and their imapact on women in the hope to one day start a venture of her own to cater to these domains.
