Sanjana Karnani is based in North West London. Hailing from a traditional Indian business family and backed by academic excellence, ethos of aspiration, self-reliance, sense of duty and charitable work are strongly embedded in her DNA. She is a successful entrepreneur. Sanjana has an educational business called Erudite Tutors London and a thriving online business called Verdure Plus. Sanjana takes an active interest in charities and organisations. She is a trustee of two UK charities and is passionate about children’s education and fight against hunger. Sanjana has a keen sense of public service. She is a school governor at two local schools. Sanjana is co-founder & Vice-Chair of Conservative Friends of Small Business. She is a ward panel member for Safer Neighbourhoods, Chair of Friends of Roe Green Park. During Covid pandemic, Sanjana set up a Whatsapp group so that neighbours can stay in touch, support and help each other; collaborating with Akshay Patra UK, Sanjana facilitated meals for school children during half-term break; she raised thousands for local charities during covid pandemics, has donated to food bank at local church and has serves the homeless near Charing Cross with Jalaram temple devotees. Her business also supports St. Luke’s Harrow. Sanjana’s spiritual side came to the fore during the centenary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Sanjana along with her family, immersed herself in various seva ranging from receiving guests, liaising with other stakeholders and serving prasad during the festival. Since then she has taken every opportunity to serve and volunteer regularly in various temple activities. As a Conservative Cllr candidate, Sanjana highlighted local issues such as excessive gambling, rising obesity, crime and lack of access to open, green spaces. Becoming an elected representative will be an extension of Sanjana’s public service. Sanjana was invited at 10 Downing Street during the International Women’s Week and had opportunity to interact with PM Rishi Sunak. Sanjana has not only received the prestigious award for ‘Public Service’ from Lodha Foundation, but also award for Remarkable Entrepreneur from IIW at an event held at Palace of Westminster, graced by distinguished guests and patrons. Sanjana feels humbled for the nomination and looks forward to opportunity to serve in the future.
