Supriya is an award-winning entrepreneur, scientist and technologist from Uttar Pradesh, India. She began her career as a laser physicist, and first arrived in the UK at the invitation of UCL's world-class physics department faculty. Several definitive papers and high-profile lectures later, she left academia to make impact at scale, founding tech-focused startups in the foodtech and art-tech spaces that leveraged her science background and broad base of technical skills. Having been awarded internationally for her work in software product development and management, Supriya's latest venture is Surf, an AI-powered connection platform whose focus is nothing less than the eradication of loneliness from the world. "I believe passionately in, and am guided at all times by, the humanising power of technology," she says. "At this critical inflection point in the history of technology, I want to make sure that the power of AI is leveraged fully in the interests of human development, for all people, everywhere. That's a central part of our mission at Surf, and mine as an entrepreneur."
