Xiomara Acevedo, Internationalist, Climate, nature and gender justice activist, consultant and social entrepreneur from Colombia. She is the founder and director of Barranquilla+20 a women-led & women and youth focused NGO that started its impact in 2012 and whose mission is to educate and recognize women, children and youth leadership in climate change, biodiversity and water issues in Colombia and LAC countries. Barranquilla+20 has reached more than 30.000 people with its different campaigns, projects and initiatives and was one of the 10 Generation equality youth grantees. Xiomy also coordinates the Global Youth Biodiversity Network in Colombia and the Women for Climate Justice national network. She is passionate about intergenerational equity, the rights-based approach and about promoting feminist action for climate and nature justice. Also her passion is developing local initiatives to advocate and influence climate and environmental policies. She believes in positioning grassroots voices and their knowledge as essential to solving environmental challenges. In 2022 she was chosen as one of the 50 women "rising stars" in ESG by the organization Women of the future, and is also a One Young World Ambassador.
